I’ve been involved with several scientific outreach and education efforts. In particular since I worked on synthetic biology research I have the most exposure to resources for teaching bioengineering concepts. Below are some resources I’ve found helpful and some I’ve worked on.
BioBits was a synthetic biology education project lead by researchers from MIT and Northwestern. This effort used freeze-dried cell-free (FD-CF) reactions to make simple biological experiments that can be cheaply shipped to students. I got to help a little on this project since my labmate, Ally Huang, was one of the leads on this project. You can read the pair of papers that was published in Science Advances.
